Note that the call is not related to Science without Borders and that CAPES will take cost benefit (PhD proposals vs. PhD fees in the specific institution) into consideration when awarding PhD scholarships.
The documentation that needs to be provided by Mary Immaculate College would be as follows:
· Communication between prospective student and possible research project coordinator – a letter of interest with the PhD study plan; Research subject area; start and end dates
· Coordinator’s Resume
All the other documentation is to be arranged by the students. For the purpose of the application, the proposed project will need to be submitted in Portuguese.
Note that, on the application, candidates will put forward two institutions in which they are being offered a PhD post (not necessarily in the same country) and it will be up to CAPES to decide which one according to their criteria.
CAPES are also offering Sandwich PhD scholarships for a minimum 4 months, maximum 12 months.
For full PhD applications, the deadline is the 30th of August 2016 with start date from July to November 2017.
For the sandwich PhDs, the deadline is the 30th of September 2016 with start date from March to October 2017
