UFRN Launches 2026 International Mobility Call for Faculty

The International Relations Office (SRI), in conjunction with the Pro-Rectorates of Graduate Studies (PPG), Research (PROPESQ), and Outreach (PROEX), announces the opening of applications for Notice No. 05/2026 - International Mobility. This initiative aims to foster the creation and strengthening of global strategic partnerships by funding faculty activities abroad.

Who Can Apply?

The opportunity is open to permanent or voluntary faculty members at UFRN who have had papers accepted at conferences or similar events, or who have been invited to give lectures or participate in scientific, technological, artistic, or cultural exchanges. Candidates will be divided into three categories:

  • Group A: Faculty members serving as permanent members of Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs.

  • Group B: Faculty members who are not yet credited as permanent members of Graduate Programs.

  • Group C: Faculty members whose international actions are characterized as outreach activities by PROEX.

Investment and Benefits

The call has a global budget of R$ 370,000.00. Selected faculty members may receive financial aid of up to R$ 15,000.00, depending on the destination country and budget availability. Grant amounts are categorized by country groups to ensure appropriate support for different regions.

Interested parties should note the following schedule:

  • Application Period: May 6, 2026, to June 1, 2026.

  • Final Results: Expected by June 18, 2026.

Equity and Special Criteria

Reinforcing the commitment to gender equity, the notice includes special criteria for researchers who were on maternity or adoption leave (including solo fathers) between 2022 and 2026. This allows for the productivity evaluation window to be extended by two years for each occurrence.
